We are extremely delighted this week to have been voted The Best Restaurant in the UK in The Sunday Times Food Guide - Britain’s Top 100 Restaurants, produced in association with Harden’s. All the more so as it is the first time a restaurant North of Oxford has even come in the top five. Andrew responded to the press saying - "this award is particularly gratifying as it recognises all that we do to keep growing and improving, in a country with a burgeoning list of really good restaurants. I have a brilliantly talented and loyal team – a lot of whom have been with me for many years - and I owe it all to them."

Japan Krug Ambassade Andrew's Travels
Andrew has recently returned from a spectacular study tour of Japanese gastronomy with The Roux Scholarship. From watching artisans making tofu skin in a Kyoto backstreet, and specialist chefs preparing the deadly fugu blowfish, to eating an enormous lunch in the sumo wrestler’s restaurant and a breakfast of sea squirt and sea slugs in Tsukiji fishmarket. They also cooked a fundraising dinner for the Tsunami appeal in Tokyo.

We are proud to have been invited to become Scotland’s only Ambassade for Krug – arguably the world’s finest Champagne House. Having passionately poured Krug since we first opened our doors eleven years ago, this now gives us an opportunity to connect with some remarkable establishments throughout the world. After a day of hard networking, we hosted the inaugural UK Ambassade meal in the restaurant – only the second time we have ever served lunch!
